Meet Barbara Lewin
Barbara Lewin, RDN, CSSD, LDN is an internationally recognized sport nutritionist and functional (holistic) nutritionist and has been teaching athletes effective and realistic ways to improve their health, optimize performance and successfully manage their weight. She has worked with elite athletes and Olympic contenders all over the world, showing them how to gain a competitive edge with nutrition.
Barbara holds the following Licenses and Memberships:
- Board certified in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
- Listed on the U.S. Olympic Registry as a Sports Dietitian/Nutritionist
- SCAN (Sports and Cardiovascular Practice Group)
- The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)
- The Integrative Nutritionists practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Educational Background:
- Barbara went to the University of South Florida and Florida International University completing a 900-hour internship and receiving her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
Barbara enjoys counseling athletes of all abilities and ages and has worked in a variety of settings, including:
- The National Institute of Health
- The University of Virginia
- The Pritikin Longevity Center
- Kaiser Permanente
- Adjunct professor at James Madison University in Virginia and with Johns Hopkins University
